Travelers must know this: EMERALD REWARDS, what is this in BDO unibank?

What are emerald rewards from BDO rewards?

BDO Rewards Emerald is a tier of the BDO Rewards Program, which is designed to provide rewards and exclusive benefits to BDO (Banco de Oro) cardholders. This program allows customers to earn points through eligible transactions on their BDO credit cards, and the points can be redeemed for a range of items, discounts, or services.

Key Features of BDO Rewards Emerald Tier:

 Earn Points

Cardholders accumulate reward points from purchases and transactions made using their BDO credit card.

Exclusive Benefits

The Emerald tier provides cardholders with exclusive offers such as premium rewards, priority customer service, or specially tailored promotions.

Redemption Options

Points can often be redeemed for travel perks, merchandise, vouchers, and even discounts on future transactions.

Tiered Rewards

System Usually, higher tiers (like Emerald) offer better rewards, incentives, or more options for redemption compared to lower levels. The Emerald tier is part of a broader system that allows frequent users of BDO credit cards to receive extra rewards and exclusive deals. It’s important to check the specific terms or the BDO Rewards Program brochure for full details, as the offerings may vary depending on regions and the type of BDO card being used.

Emerald Rewards is a premium tier or special category within the BDO Rewards program that offers enhanced benefits and exclusive privileges to loyal BDO cardholders. Typically, programs like this provide advantages such as higher point-earning rates, bonus rewards, access to special promotions, and exclusive deals with partner merchants. The exact benefits, eligibility criteria, and terms can vary over time, so it's best to check the latest details directly with BDO or on their official website for the most current information.

How can I get points?

Based on recent information from BDO’s rewards program, you can earn points for the Emerald Rewards (and other tiers) primarily through everyday transactions using your BDO credit or debit cards.

Here are some common ways to accumulate points:

Card Usage: Earn points by using your BDO card for purchases at various merchants—both online and in-store.

Bill Payments: Paying bills through your BDO online banking or mobile app often awards points.

Promotional Offers: Look out for special promotions or partner deals where you can earn bonus points.

Everyday Banking: Some regular banking transactions, such as fund transfers or other qualifying activities, might also earn you points.

Since the exact methods and point multipliers can change over time, it’s a good idea to review the latest details on BDO’s official website or contact their customer service for the most up-to-date information on how to earn points for the Emerald Rewards program.

I have it on my app but even if I use my Kabayan debit card I don't get any points

If you're not receiving points on your Kabayan debit card despite using it for transactions, there could be several reasons for this issue.

Here's a list of things to check and steps to resolve the issue:

1.    Eligibility for Points

Ensure that your Kabayan debit card is enrolled in the BDO Rewards program. Some cards may not automatically earn points if they're not linked to this special program, even if you're using them for regular transactions.

Verify Your Tier: If your card is part of the Emerald Rewards or a different rewards tier, ensure that you've met the eligibility criteria (minimum spending threshold, etc.) for earning points.

2.    Check Terms & Conditions

Make sure you're meeting the specific terms for earning points. Some transactions may be excluded (e.g., balance transfers, ATM withdrawals, or using the card for non-merchant transactions might not earn points). If there are ongoing special promotions, you may need to activate them or opt-in before earning bonus points.

3.    Transaction Types

Confirm that the purchases you're making are eligible for reward points. Usually, retail purchases, bill payments, and online shopping will earn points, but certain fees or non-merchants (like ATM withdrawals) may be excluded. - **Transaction Frequency**: Sometimes, a specific number of purchases or a spending threshold may be required within a billing cycle before points are awarded.

4.     App Settings/Issues

Ensure that your BDO mobile banking app is updated. Occasionally, syncing issues may cause reward points to be reflected later or not at all. Check if you're logged into the correct account on the app associated with your debit card. It’s possible that there’s a technical issue with your account, and BDO support will be able to check whether your card is correctly enrolled in the rewards program.

5.    BDO Rewards System Update

There may be times when point allocation faces delays or system issues. Sometimes, points might take a few business days to reflect on your app

1.    Check your BDO account details and confirm that your Kabayan Debit Card is registered for the rewards program with the correct rewards designation.

2.    Review receipt/transaction details, make sure you kept receipts of transactions for which points were supposed to be earned, and check with BDO if they're eligible.

3.    Contact Customer Support, If the issue persists, you can call or visit a local branch to explain the situation and have them investigate your rewards points. If after these checks you’re still not receiving points, BDO’s customer service team will be able to assist further with any technical faults or eligibility issues.

Would you recommend BDO Unibank to me?

BDO Unibank is one of the largest banks in the Philippines, offering a wide range of financial products and services. In 2020, it was recognized as the highest-rated bank by Filipino clients in a Reader's Digest survey on customer satisfaction, receiving multiple awards in various categories. bdo.com.ph

However, customer experiences appear to be mixed. Some online reviews highlight concerns about customer service and account security. For instance, BDO Unibank has an average rating of 1.7 out of 5 based on 58 customer reviews on Pissed Consumer, with common complaints about customer service and support. bdo-unibank.pissedconsumer.com

The BDO Kabayan Savings account is designed primarily for overseas Filipinos and their beneficiaries. According to BDO, account holders can earn BDO Rewards points for every qualified remittance received and for maintaining a certain balance in their account. bdo.com.ph

Given your experience of not receiving points despite using your Kabayan debit card, it's possible that only specific transactions, such as qualified remittances and maintaining a certain balance, are eligible for earning points. Purchases made directly with the debit card may not qualify. For clarity on which transactions earn rewards and to address your concerns, it's advisable to contact BDO's customer service directly or visit a local branch.

In summary, while BDO Unibank offers a comprehensive range of services and has received notable accolades, individual experiences vary. It's important to assess whether their offerings align with your specific banking needs and expectations.

When was Emerald's reward started?

The BDO Rewards program was first introduced in 2005 and reintroduced in 2008. philstar.com

However, specific information regarding the launch date of the Emerald tier within the BDO Rewards program is not readily available in the provided sources.

Is emerald reward only available in the Philippines?

The BDO Rewards program, including the Emerald tier, is primarily designed for BDO Unibank account holders in the Philippines. To participate, individuals must maintain a personal peso or dollar savings or checking account with BDO. While the program is tailored for clients within the Philippines, overseas clients can access their accounts and manage certain aspects through BDO's online platforms. However, the full benefits and redemption options of the BDO Rewards program are mainly accessible within the Philippines

What can I say more about protecting our bank accounts?

Protecting your bank account from fraud and unauthorized access is crucial. Here are some essential tips to enhance your account security:

Use Strong, Unique Passwords: Create complex passwords that combine uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. Avoid using easily guessable information like birthdays or common words. Regularly update your passwords and ensure each of your accounts has a unique one. discover.com

Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Activate 2FA on your bank accounts to add an extra layer of security. This requires a second form of verification, such as a one-time code sent to your phone, making unauthorized access more difficult. discover.com

Be Cautious with Public Wi-Fi: Avoid accessing your bank accounts over public Wi-Fi networks, as they can be less secure and more susceptible to hacking. If necessary, use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to encrypt your connection. discover.com

Monitor Your Accounts Regularly: Frequently review your bank statements and account activity to spot any unauthorized transactions promptly. Early detection is key to addressing potential fraud. focusdatasolutions.com

Beware of Phishing Attempts: Be vigilant about unsolicited communications asking for your personal or financial information. Verify the authenticity of emails or messages before clicking on links or providing details. bettermoneyhabits.bankofamerica.com

Keep Your Software Updated: Regularly update your devices' operating systems and applications to protect against known vulnerabilities that hackers might exploit. discover.com

Secure Personal Information Offline: Shred sensitive documents before disposal and avoid sharing personal information over the phone unless you can verify the recipient's identity. queenstownbank.com

By implementing these practices, you can significantly reduce the risk of unauthorized access to your bank accounts and protect your financial well-being.

Which JOLLIBEE BRANCH has the best and quality service in ILOCOS NORTE? for tourist must go and try

Yesterday po nagpunta po ako ng BATAC kasi may kukunin po akong food display at nagutom po ako, so nakita ko po si Jollibee dito po iyan sa batac, and ang kinain ko po doon is yong AMAZING ALOHA CHAMP Jr. (Burger) yung may pineapple po na burger, and nagulat po ako kasi yung COKE ZERO nila wala po siyang ice, I think it's not because coke zero siya hindi siya sweet so hindi nila nilalagyan ng ice, I think para sulit yung isang baso ng coke, pasensya na kasi medyo na thirst ako so humigop ako ng konti, yung burger na binili ko makapal po, masarap tsaka yung fatty po ay tunay na pork meat, tsaka makapal po yung burger, have you also noticed na yung uniform nila kung makikita niyo po pinicturan ko po sila one time, kung makikita niyo kakaiba, hindi po yung uniform nila na dati or yung usual parang pinalitan po yung kulay meron na po siyang kulay blue, tsaka orange.

Ito po yung itsura ng sa labas ng Jollibee dito sa batac, Along the highway from Laoag and the road, is going split to the market northern part and yung straight road niya is to manila if galing po kayo ng Laoag, but if galing po ng Manila or somewhere south you can see this Jollibee branch after the crossing with stop light and MMMSU medical building, don’t mind the Macdonald’s there just fast by.

You can comment po below ano pa yong wala, marami pa po atang wala, well in the future we can have it hear, so better be updated.

The business here in Ilocos Norte is booming, I noticed that there are a lot of establishments going on already, as well as the roads being widened, and bypasses are also around.

I would rather choose or I would go to a restaurant, avoid fast food chain kasi po medyo unhealthy po talaga yung mga foods sa fast food chain pero dahil kanina sa biyahe ko nagutom ako and I cannot see any restaurant to eat so I better go into fast food, I don’t recommend it anyway but if we're talking about the best JOLLIBE is.

I don't like McDonald’s because their sauce is too sour and it's like I don't feel the sweetness or the taste na must better siya kay Jollibee, I would rate Jollibee Laoag 9. 5 out of 10 and Jollibee Batac with 9. 8, McDonald's are 8. 5 and the rest is 6. 0 below,

If we're talking about the kindness and politeness of people on the staff I would rather choose Jollibee Batac, because one time I experienced the Jollibee Laoag branch at the heart of Laoag, near Puregold there was this one young staff that talked to me in a bad way, and another Jollibee in Robinson San Nicolas, I don't recommend when it comes to work behaviors because these young workers are just playing around and it's like they don't know what's their job is, you cannot compare Jollibee Batac to this branches because they are kind and smiley, they always smile and talk so nicely, Very professional also.

When you come to visit Ilocos Norte please be my follower and I will guide you or tour you all around Ilocos Norte, Because I already go to those places for tourists. Thank you for reading my articles see you soon to my next blog.

This FRIED CHICKEN Stall in Laoag Market has a delicious taste that i can't forget (May Napakasarap na fried chicken sa Laoag)

Everyday po bukas yung tindahan niya from 8: 00 a. M. To 5: 00 p. M.

Kahit maliit na business wag po nating ititigil, I think you have to stay doon sa kung saan ka masaya or kung saan yung pinakagusto mong gawin, ang mahalaga lang naman is may kitain tayo sa araw-araw na gastusin.

You know what, I also want to sell fried chicken in the street because I need more income for my business but I see that there are so many sellers of fried chicken out there. Maybe, I need to find out and see the other business that is suited to me, and the one I love the most, Jesus will help you to find out, I mean to see and Jesus will help you to provide the things that you need in every day of your life, and if you're always pushing what is God doesn't want you to do then you will be hard up to make it because it's not his will, I’m saying this because there are also unprepared businesses, I mean there are people I know that when they see something new it's like “Oh that’s amazing, I want to copy that”, in business you have to plan and you have to think about it before you will be going to start a business because, number one you need money to fund your business, and selling fried chicken is not that expensive so for the people who want to start a business you have to try selling fried chicken or anything that you can be deep fried in the street or in the home.

As a road trip traveler I noticed that, napakarami ng mga food stalls marami ng restaurants kahit saan ka magpunta dito sa pilipinas may mga kainan, talaga namang napakagaling ng pilipino sa pagkain, kaya dahan-dahan po tayo sa pagkain ng mga mamantika lalo na po sa mga deep fried.
I don't think na meron po itong business permit or anything na permit to operate kasi ano siya na namu-move, yung food cart po siya na may gulong pero kung ano naman naka-stock na siya sa daan or sa isang area na free, like it's permanent na naka-display na yung tindahan mo dun, then you have to submit you permits or requirements to the local government, so you’ll be secured to make money not troubles.

Malay mo no sa pagtitinda mo ng fried chicken sa street naka pagtapos ka ng pag-aaral, or yung mga kapatid mo or kung may anak ka naman mapagtapos mo sila sa high school or college, makakaipon ka pa rin naman, kaya mo pa ring ipunin yung isang Milyon, basta masipag ka tsaka matiyaga, push lang ng push and do not copy the idea of others just the originality of yours po.

HONG KONG Travel Guide 2025, The Peak Tram, Foods, And the Nature - One of the most visited place in HONG KONG

HONG KONG TRAVEL GUIDE, kailangan niyo po ng valid passport, sufficient funds, proof of onward or return transportation, and you can visit Hongkong for up to 6 months without visa, Ganun po sa Hongkong talagang tatanungin nila or kailangan niyo po talaga ng sufficient funds kasi po pag kayo po ay na-stranded or nawalan ng pera doon siguradong hindi na kayo makakabalik, kasi pati po yung return transportation niyo, ticket, or papers titignan po nila lahat iyon.

Sa Entry requirements naman po syempre kailangan niyo pa ng passport at least one month pass your intended stay tapos yun po proof of an ward or return transportation, funds cover you stay without working locally, kapag nagtrabaho po kayo doon na tourist lang naman hahanapin po kayo ng pulis tsaka isusumbong kayo nung may-ari kung kayo po ay nag-apply or pwede rin po yung pag nag-work kayo sa kalsada hindi rin po pwede bawal po, nagbebenta ng kung ano-ano bawal din.

Sa visa requirements naman po pag gusto niyo po ng mag-stay longer work study or travel for business you need a visa, doon na po makikita na magtatagal po kayo at pag working naman required po talaga iyon specially po sa mga gustong mag-aral, yung mga kayang i-afford.
Pwede rin niyo pong I-check po yung SAR government website for more information and visa requirements

The app provides information such as transport roots fairs journey time and real-time traffic conditions,
Talagang napakaganda po dito.
Alam niyo ba ang Hongkong nakakaranas din siya ng mga typhoons every year, they also experience around six typhoons a year average most of them are just mild lang naman and meron din silang app providers for weather warnings about typhoon and rains or thunderstorm.

Pinakamagandang months para mag-travel sa hong kong is think october and december po or pwede rin pong january to february.

Anyway, hindi naman nangyari yon sa akin I just heard it from someone.

Who has the best EMPANADA in Ilocos Norte and where i can find?

Empanada, isa sa mga pinaka paboritong meryenda ng lahat lalo na sa mga medyo may edad na like me I am 30 years old, and we still enjoy it like when were you still young, also the young people also love it, but this generation they love to eat sweets and drinks na.

I will also blogging the other street food of PASUQUIN soon but because we're in hurry, umuwi na kami ng ma-aga,  Ang pagluluto ng empanada ay mausisa rin po or mausisi sa tagalog,  you need to make sure na hindi siya masisira habang priniprito kasi yung dough nito is may special mixture na kailangang gamitin para hindi masira pag priniprito anyway I cannot give you the recipe right now kasi hindi po ako nagluluto so we're only traveling for food and I’m blogging for food to taste and to show you the places where I can find the food.

Na bigla talaga po ako sa texture ng empanada ni kuya kasi parang mas masarap siya sa empanada ng BATAC or its just the same kasi yung empanada ng BATAC medyo mas mataba ng konti at tsaka siksik ,ito naman yung empanada ni kuya dito sa pasuquin mas malasa lang pero mas manipis ng konti and when it comes to overall I will love to eat one or more in PASUQUIN, We will also going to batac soon, and I’m going to show you the empanada in Batac.

If you want me to RATE the empanada here in Pasuquin I will give it 9.8 and the empanada in Batac is 9.5, anyway I can also rate the empanada here in baccara weed 8.9, empanada in Laoag is 9.0 So, when you visited Ilocos Norte you will know where to eat EMPANADA already because I already rate it, thank me later.

This road in Brgy 30 CADARATAN BACARRA, Ilocos Norte is 40 years old already and it has never been touched or renovated (No drainage or anything)

Barangay Cadaratan, dito sa Bacarra Ilocos Norte, napakatagal na po ng panahon na itong kalsada na ito ay ganito pa rin siya and it was never changed as it remains the same as when I was a kid, I think this road is not that beautiful before I was born.Imagine the long run for 40 years or more than 40 years? what do you think?

So dahil dumadami ang bilang ng turismo dito sa pilipinas lalo na dito sa ilocos norte I think it's time for them to move quickly and respond to the needs of a place where people is visiting mostly.

Hopefully all roads in Ilocos Norte will be renovated or magawan ng paraan para malagyan lahat ng drainage sa mga gilid-gilid niya and of course the road should be the best and magtatagal at matibay kasi hindi natin alam kung kailan ito masisira and ma-rerenovate pero mas maganda na mas matibay siya para mas matagal gamitin and in the next generation.

Sa banda rito po, Wala po talaga siyang pavements or cemento pa rap road po talaga, pag umuulan baha at maputik dito

Bigasan Store (BIGASAN BUSINESS) a better investment for Long term and short term - Rice Retailer

Isasama nga naisip ko para mas maganda yung business is i think you have to buy rice and then by packaging and selling, yung pwede mong i-package para ibenta with your pangalan which is a I think magandang idea iyon para sa mas marami ka pang income, you only have two hire 2 workers, isang kargador tsaka isang cashier, yung sinasabi ko na magpa-package ka bibilhin mo lang yung mga bigas na raw, I mean kaka harvest lang them na milled, kung ano yung klase ng bigas or ano yung standard niya ang gagawin mo ay dapat tugma doon sa packing niya also, kung siya ay premium or low quality rice ilalagay mo din sa packaging niya.

Pero una po sa lahat you have to fulfill or accomplish your permits sa, NFA national food authority, DTI department of trade in industry and then yung BIR Bureau of internal revenue.

Well, kong pag-uusapan naman natin where we going to put our business or saan ang magandang pwesto i think you can also use your house if nasa sentro kayo ng city or nasa sentro kayo ng municipality ng lugar niyo, you will only have to advertise or put something people will see like tarpaulin, signage, sa harap ng bahay niyo, and if malayo naman kayo or liblib pwede naman po kayong mag-online, to promote sa internet with friends, relatives, or kahit wala sila, pwede niyo pong gamitin ang Facebook for advertising. If you want to learn how you can contact our page sa Facebook.

Sa bigasan store I think you also need to consider na medyo malaki-laki po yung puhunan niya dahil yung price ng bigas sa isang 10 kilos or 50 kilos isang libo pataas po ang bayad niya, and you are going to buy from the wholesaler medyu mas mura kasi ibebenta mo siya ng mahal to consumers.

If tatanungin niyo naman sa akin kung kailan tatagal ang isang bigas or life shelf niya, according to AI overview, ito po, dry white rice can typically last up to 2 years when stored properly in a cool dry place, while brown rice generally has a shorter shelf life of around 6 months due its higher oil content. however, always check for signs of spoilage like unusual smell, texture changes, or bags before consuming rice regardless of the expiration date, ayan po yung explanation ni AI sa internet.

Para dumami pa yung mga sales mo i think you can also consider to involve or add more items sa iyong tindahan sa bigasan like mga farming chemicals or yung hindi mga chemical pwede rin namang mga CORN, ano pa, yung mga BUTO na pwedeng itanim or lutuin like MONGO and other crops, oo pwede iyon kasi nga it is also a part of farming family, pwede rin po yung BUTO NG PECHAY mga TALONG, SITAW, KALABASA, ganun po.

Sa inventory naman dapat mausisa ka din I mean you have to well plan, and hindi yung dahil may benta ka na hindi ka nag-i-in ventory hindi mo na chine-check yung mga lumalabas at saka pumapasok, will you have to monitor all ikaw na may-ari, kasi pag yung mga nakabantay doon minsan may mga ninanakaw din, hindi ko naman nilalahat ha pero pag wala kasi nagbabantay na amo or walang titingin minsan ginagawa.

Muntik ko nang makalimutan, sa transportation naman i dont think you have to purchase also but the whosaler naman is willing to distribute of deliver pag may in order po kayo, but if you want to buy po in the future for better and faster and medyu malaki laki na po ang business you can buy your own transporation po.

So dito muna tayo mag tatapos and we will continue talking next articles na I pu-publish ko. Marami pong salamat.

The San Agustin facade are not Corinthian?

I don't know if people have observed this, but the columns at the upper tier of the San Agustin facade are not Corinthian. They are Tuscan columns but instead of the entablature sitting directly into it; between them are square Corinthian capitals.

I don't know if it is merely a result of illiteracy or if this is really the intention of the architect to add flavor to its Baroque-ness and mannerisms comedy. This was designed and built during the Late-Renaissance period after all. I supposed the latter since the lower tier is in a very sophisticated ionic baroque design, and is in no way a work of an illiterate architect. And as they say, The only way to properly break the rule and it would still work is to know the rule, then break it, and then follow it., Michaelangelo is known to do this.

The Philippines is no stranger to such strange classicism. I have seen this in the Museo de la Salle arch (built in modern times). A design that I assumed they followed from an existing old building somewhere (Maybe this church itself). But instead of Corinthian capitals, they used Ionic.
